Getting started
What is Bones Community?
A members-only space for the alternative community. Music, culture, people. Built and run by House of Bones.
How do I edit my profile?
Tap your @handle in the nav to open your profile, then hit Edit. Set your display name, bio, aesthetic tags, avatar, and a theme that fits you.
What can I actually do here?
Browse and post listings, drop a quick community post, check upcoming Events, find Members, send direct Messages, grab Merch, and play Moshpit when you need a break. More coming.
Listings
How do I post a listing?
Hit "Post listing" from the Listings page, the homepage, or your profile. Pick a category and a type: selling old gear, giving away records, looking for someone to go to a show with, offering a trade. Add photos if you have them, a description, and publish.
How many listings can I have active at once?
10 for regular members. Verified businesses get 25. If you hit the limit, remove an older listing to make room.
Why did my listing disappear?
Listings auto-delete after 90 days. It keeps things from piling up with dead posts. If it's still relevant, just repost it.
Can I edit or remove a listing?
Yes. Open the listing and you'll find Edit and Delete buttons at the bottom, visible only to you.
How do I share a listing outside the community?
Every listing has a share button. On mobile it opens your native share sheet — on desktop it copies the link to your clipboard. The listing page is publicly accessible without a login, so people can see it even if they're not a member yet.
Posts
What are posts?
Short messages to the community — questions, notices, things you want to share quickly. Think of it as a notice board. Not everything needs a full listing.
What's a good example?
"Anyone going to Labyrinth this weekend? Looking to borrow a tent peg." Or "Just found out about this local show tonight, who's coming?" Quick, casual, community stuff.
How long does a post stay up?
7 days. Posts are intentionally short-lived. After that they're gone automatically — no action needed from you.
How many posts can I have at once?
3 active posts at a time. With 7-day expiry, that resets naturally as things expire.
Can people reply to my post?
Not directly — there are no comments on posts by design. If someone wants to respond they'll send you a message. It keeps things light.
Verified Business
What is Verified Business status?
A badge on your profile for registered businesses in the scene. Verified businesses appear in the dedicated Businesses section of the Members directory and can post up to 25 listings instead of 10. This is still being developed and more features for verified businesses are coming.
How do I apply?
Go to your profile and find the business verification section. You'll need your VAT number. We check it against VIES and the team reviews applications manually.
Reporting
How do I report someone?
Open their profile and tap the ··· button. You can report the member or block them. Reports go to the team and your identity is never shared with the person you report.
Can I report a comment?
Yes. Every comment on a listing has a report option. Use it if something breaks the community guidelines.
What happens after I report?
The team reviews every report manually. We don't send automated responses but we do act on valid reports.
Messages
How do I message someone?
Open their profile or any of their listings and tap the message button. There's no standalone compose button. Conversations always start from context.
Inviting people
How do I invite someone?
Your profile has a personal invite link. Share it wherever you want. When someone joins through your link they're connected to you. The community grows through people vouching for each other.
Using it as an app
Can I install Bones Community on my phone?
Yes, and it's worth it. You get push notifications and a proper fullscreen experience.
iPhone: tap Share → Add to Home Screen.Android: tap the browser menu → Install app or Add to Home Screen.
